Our world is filled with myths and stories about what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. We glamorize the state of entrepreneurship, assigning to it almost magical attributes and capabilities. We delight equally in applauding its lush creations and excoriating its excesses.

Many who have opted for the safety and security of a "j-o-b" make it through each day, week and year nurtured by the secret fantasy that one day we too will step out and become an entrepreneur: be our own boss, run the show the way we know it should be run, get justly rewarded for our efforts and creativity.

And now that time has arrived! You have left or are preparing to leave the safety of the organizational nest. You are about to strike out on your own into the brave new world of business based around the smarts, experience and insights you carry in your brain.

Explore what it takes to create, launch and grow a successful intellectual property driven business. Beginning with an exploration of your intention, Discovering Entrepreneurial Savvy provides a lens through which you can see what you have to offer to the world. You'll discover what success means to you and what you'll need to do to achieve it. You'll explore the all important worlds of building and sustaining customer relationships, maintaining clarity on your values that drive your business and accessing the markets appropriate for your venture,

Discovering Entrepreneurial Savvy works with the powerful Logical Levels framework to identify the big questions about which you need to achieve clarity. This clarity of intention then becomes the driver that shapes all subsequent decisions, choices and activities. By the end of Discovering Entrepreneurial Savvy you'll be proficient in the use of Logical Levels as a strategic planning tool.

Discovering Entrepreneurial Savvy is offered in evening modules, each lasting 3 hours. Working with a small group of equally committed businesspeople, you'll have many opportunities to receive individual coaching and support from our experienced Program Leader. Evening 1 provides a WEL-Systems overview with a special focus on Logical Levels so that you can explore the entrepreneurial myth, and begin to elicit your intention and underlying values through a new lens. Evening 2 thoroughly explores the topic of your intention and who you will become. Evening 3 explores the choices and values associated with creating your intention in space and time; Evenings 4 and 5 offer a detailed discussion of logistical considerations such as what resources you require; the customer issue: getting them, retaining them, letting them go; marketing topics such as developing promotional material; networking; the business plan and nitty gritties such as setting up an office, admin processes, etc.

Your Program Leader:

Gwen McCauley, a skilled business coach and facilitator who has made the leap from corporate drone to successful business woman. Gwen owns Odysseys Unlimited Inc. a consultancy specializing in career transition, leadership development, team building and executive & business coaching. In addition, she is co-founder of Sekhmet Rising, a company offering leadership growth experiences to senior executive women. Gwen is also co-founder and Executive Director of The WEL-Systems® Institute, providing innovative, cutting edge human growth and development experiences and certifications based in WEL-Systems:NLP to clients around the world. Gwen's intention is to create businesses that operate as open loop systems, constantly growing and changing to meet the needs of all engaged in the enterprise. She uses her various business interests to explore and realize that intention.

Gwen's credentials include a BA in Sociology/Anthropology, and an MA in Human Systems Intervention. She has trained in MBTI, Open Space, Appreciative Inquiry and Generative Leadership. Gwen is a certified WEL-Systems Educator, WEL-Systems:NLP Program Leader and CODE Model Coach™.
